OUR MISSION
Young Artists of America™ (501c3) is the region’s premier training organization for collaborative performing artists. It is the only known program in the nation where students receive mentorship and individualized instruction from renowned artists while training to rehearse and perform fully-orchestrated works of music-theatre in state-of-the-art venues.
With campuses in Montgomery County, MD and Howard County, MD, students from all over the mid-Atlantic region participate in our Performing Ensembles, while many travel from overseas for our Summer Intensives.
Young Artists of America’s goal is to provide gifted and committed performing arts students (middle school, high school and pre-professional levels) unique performance and educational opportunities in a professional, nurturing and collaborative environment.
In order to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial circumstances, are able to participate in our high-quality programs and performance opportunities, our tuition is subsidized to keep costs as low as possible.
OUR HISTORY
In 2011, brothers Rolando and Kristofer Sanz set out to fill an educational void for talented instrumentalists and vocalists. Originally from the Montgomery County, Maryland area, both brothers have found success as professional musicians and educators. Rolando is a world-renowned operatic tenor while Kristofer currently serves as Music Director and Philharmonic conductor of Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras and Winston Churchill High School. Both brothers credit their success to high-caliber training and mentorships through collegiate level programs found elsewhere in the nation. After starting their own families in the area, they were determined to give back to the community by creating a music organization for talented youth that would offer the types of opportunities to which they credited their professional success.
Today, thanks to the support of donors, our Board of Directors and hardworking Administrative Team, the Sanz brothers are proud to see that dream realized. With award-winning stars the likes of Kristin Chenoweth, Stephen Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown, Jeanine Tesori, Steven Lutvak, Andrew Lippa, and Anthony McGill participating in the Mentoring Program and with student alumni moving on to elite university programs, Young Artists of America™ is now regarded as the region’s premier training organization for young collaborative performing artists.
