The Artistic Process

Young Artists of America offers various classes and workshops for middle, high school and gap year students looking to develop their individual skills in various disciplines, including Acting, Dance, Voice, and Musicianship. 

Classes are open to enrollment for all students, whether or not they are participating in one of our Performance Ensembles

SCHOOL YEAR CLASSES

YAAStudio (Levels I, II, III, IV, & V)

Grades 4-12 + Gap Year

YAAStudio (Levels I thru V) are our newly expanded multi-disciplinary approach to musical theatre training, designed for the serious elementary, middle, high school, or gap year performing arts student.

Students receive leveled training in acting, dance, and voice in a classroom setting over 12-weeks.

We offer FIVE levels of YAAStudio, with offerings ranging from the beginner to the advanced student focused on majoring in musical theatre in college:

  • YAAStudio I: Storytelling (Grades 4-6)

  • YAAStudio II: Foundations (Grades 6-8)

  • YAAStudio III: Technique (Grades 8-10)

  • YAAStudio IV: Styles & Repertoire (Grades 9-12)

  • YAAStudio V: Role Study (Grades 11-12 + Gap Year)


Dance Workshops

All levels

Our newly devised Dance Workshops offer dance training, tailored especially to students of all levels who are interested in strengthening their technical understanding of different styles of musical theatre dance.

Please note that by participating in a virtual session, you are agreeing that you (or your child) are doing so at your own risk, and that YAA assumes no liability for injury.  Minors are welcome to participate in YAA’s virtual programming under the supervision of a parent/guardian. Just as with its in-person session, YAA reserves the right to record virtual sessions for archival and YAA promotional uses, and by registering you consent to such recording and use.
