Fall 2020: an 8-week semester focusing on auditions
Winter 2021: a 4-week semester focusing on recital programming and preparation
Spring 2021: an 8-week semester focusing on opera role preparation
This online classical and opera training program is designed to benefit students currently in a voice studio to enhance skills that may have not been fully explored or mastered in traditional undergraduate and graduate programs. Read below for more details.

FROM OUR STUDENTS
“Young Artists of America provided me with so many wonderful gifts! Excellent and effective focus on communication was not only provided to me personally, but I also got to see great teaching and learning between the staff and students in real time.
Training included: the art and science of singing, the art of performing, the art of language, vocal technique, and musicianship. Arianna, Joy and Rolando (all previously admired artists) lead classes dedicated to excellence and never slacked in their commitment, sharpness, and encouragement to guide us to better ourselves. My admiration grew! It’s a truly impressive program.
My fellow colleagues were all talented and contributed to a space of beautiful encouragement (even through constructive feedback). I literally have my own professional website up and running because of this program, and I’ve gained colleagues, friends, resources, and guides. I have gained more confidence and grew as an artist. Thank you YAA!”
- Edward Washington II, Tenor (2020 Participant)
“I’m so grateful for the guidance and professional development provided by the faculty and guest speakers at YAAClassical: Voice. The “Gatekeeper” sessions were chock-full of sound advice, and my website and resume look better than ever thanks to their focused curriculum this fall: “Curating Your Digital Portfolio.”
Arianna, Joy, and Rolando were a fantastic team with great insight and kind hearts. We all became fast friends in spite of the virtual program, and I hope to collaborate with the YAAClassical: Voice team again soon!”
- Daisha Togawa, Soprano (2020 Participant)
"YAAClassical: Voice has emerged at a time of great need in our artistic community, filling a void of art and collaboration, and creating a place to finally come together again to make music. I am proud to be part of a community that is ambitious and constantly seeking to better itself. The YAAClassical: Voice team has created a rigorous, productive, engaging and uplifting space to learn even within the limitations of the virtual space!"
- Rachel Hahn, soprano (2020 Participant)
“Over the past 2 months, I have had the privilege of being part of the YAAClassical: Voice program! It has been such an amazing way to stay artistically motivated during the pandemic, and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Rolando Sanz again, as well as the amazing Arianna Zukerman and Joy Schreier. From self-tapes and Zoom studio classes, to acting with Mary Birnbaum from Juilliard and branding with Jonathan Blalock from Atlanta Opera, to Q&As with invaluable “gatekeepers” from the opera business, I have so enjoyed every moment of this program.”
- Ruthie Sangster, soprano (2020 Participant)
